Shedeur Sanders was one of the most talked about rookies during the 2025 NFL season. His fall in last year’s NFL Draft captured headlines for months. Falling to the fifth round after many pegged him having first round talent was a shock to many fans.
While he got his chance to start this past season, he finished with a sub par 1,400 passing yards, seven touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in seven starts. He went 3-4 in those starts.
However, now he may be rocking new threads in the near future.

Shedeur Sanders Trade News Goes Instantly Viral
Throughout the off-season, Shedeur Sanders has appeared to be a real contender for the starting quarterback position with the Cleveland Browns. There is a recent report out of Cleveland that suggests the Browns may be considering a very different course of action.
ESPN Cleveland’s Tony Rizzo reported the Browns have been in ongoing contact about Sanders’ availability despite publicly framing him as part of an open competition:
“There are talks, ongoing calls, about the availability of Shedeur Sanders,” Rizzo said. “The Browns, for whatever reason, don’t think he’s the guy. That’s my opinion. I’m sure they’ll say, ‘What are you talking about. He’s in a quarterback battle.’
I’m going to say right now for the record, I don’t think the four quarterbacks are going to camp on July 28. I don’t. Nothing is imminent, but the calls are being made. I think it’s in the best interest of both parties here.”
Here is the video:
In the spring, it appeared that Sanders was in a heated battle with Deshaun Watson. New Browns head coach Todd Monken praised him for taking meaningful reps and some thought he was closing the gap as minicamp wrapped up.
There is no indication that a trade is imminent based on this report. It has been made clear by Rizzo that nothing is imminent. Nevertheless, it does raise questions regarding Sanders’ true status with the Browns.
Todd Monken, the Browns’ head coach, has stated repeatedly that the team is not ready to make a decision at quarterback following their offseason workouts. After minicamp concluded, Monken stated that the quarterback competition – which seems to be exclusively between Sanders and Watson – would carry over into training camp.
