Liverpool has already signed Jeremy Jacquet and Victor Munoz this summer, but there is still more transfer work to be done by sporting director Richard Hughes in the coming weeks

Victor Munoz became the first signing of the Andoni Iraola era last week, while Jeremy Jacquet, though he never played under Arne Slot, was effectively the last under the Dutchman.
Both players, given they are 22 and 20 years old respectively, will be a big part of the future at Liverpool. But what can the Reds expect from Munoz?
"He is, first and foremost, a winger who stands out above all for his pace," MARCA journalist Alberto Rubio tells Liverpool.com. "He is very, very, very fast. He is also versatile and can play as a winger on either flank.
"At Real Madrid, there were even those who believed that, with some defensive refinement, he could go on to play as a wing-back or attacking full-back, pushing forward a great deal.
"He has been a real revelation this season. He was a ‘nobody’, so to speak, because he had come from playing in the Spanish third division.
"He made his debut for Real Madrid against Barcelona and missed a clear chance in El Clasico, but he has made up for it by having a brilliant season with Osasuna.
"He has formed a great partnership with Ante Budimir. In fact, Victor’s injury nearly led to Osasuna’s relegation. He was a key player."
Does Munoz fit the style that Iraola wants to play? The new head coach was keen on the signing when Liverpool hijacked Newcastle's move.

"I think so," Rubio continues. "He fits the mold of the wingers Iraola likes — players capable of sustaining high-intensity efforts time and time again. He can exploit spaces, beat defenders with his pace, press, and counter-press...
"His greatest strength is undoubtedly his speed. He’s a flash of lightning. He has tremendous acceleration. His biggest weakness is probably that he’s a bit of a soloist. Sometimes he overdoes it by going for one dribble, then another..."
With Jacquet coming in from Rennes, that will make a big difference at the back, and even with Ibrahima Konate having departed, the Reds have four senior central defensive options.
Ideally, one more would come in, not least because Joe Gomez doesn't have the best injury record, and he might be required to fill in at right-back anyway, but there are decent numbers there as a starting point.
Similarly, in midfield, assuming that Iraola goes with two players behind Florian Wirtz in a 4-2-3-1 system as he had at Bournemouth, there is Ryan Gravenberch, Dominik Szoboszlai, Curtis Jones, Alexis Mac Allister and Trey Nyoni as things stand.

Liverpool FC have launched their new home kit for the 2026/27, inspired by iconic adidas strip worn during the club's 1989/90 title-winning campaign.
Should someone leave — and that remains a possibility for Jones, in particular — then they would need to be replaced, but that is perhaps more a situation to play by ear as the summer continues.
Even with Munoz having come in to bolster the forward line, though, Liverpool still needs much more in attack. Alexander Isak, with Hugo Ekitike injured, is the only number nine as things stand, with Cody Gakpo, Rio Ngumoha and Federico Chiesa additional options out wide.
Ngumoha will need to be carefully managed next season still, given his age, while Chiesa has made an incredibly limited impact in two years at Anfield and could move on. Even if the Italian stays, he is unlikely to be a starter.

Talks have been held for Yan Diomande and Liverpool is willing to go big for the Ivory Coast star. With Jacquet and Munoz already signed, that is the obvious next position to target.
