Liverpool agree deal with player – Reds moving forward to find total agreement for signing

Liverpool have been working on a deal for RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande to improve their attack.

The Reds have identified him as the main target to replace Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool’s interest in the 19-year-old has been a regular topic in the media this year.

On May 28th, the winger said he’s aware of the Reds’ interest and hopes to make a big move.

Later that month, we relayed news that Diomande is leaning towards the Premier League side, who have started negotiations.

Three days ago, Sport Witness covered claims from Germany that Liverpool are in talks with his agent to beat Paris Saint-Germain.

Liverpool need agreement with Leipzig

PSG have handed the Premier League side an encouragement to sign Yan Diomande this summer.

That’s according to Media Foot, who state both Liverpool and the Champions League winners have reached an agreement with the player after initial discussions.

PSG advisor Luis Campos has been leading their pursuit, and he has already held talks with all parties. However, he hasn’t made advances because of RB Leipzig’s price for the Ivory Coast international.

There’s no mention of a figure, but it’s beyond what Luis Enrique’s side are willing to offer. Therefore, PSG have pulled out of the transfer race, and this is a boost for the Reds.

Having an agreement in place with the player’s agent, Andoni Iraola’s side have to find a total agreement with the German club.

Leipzig pose challenge for Liverpool

Sky Deutschland journalist Philipp Hinze took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report on RB Leipzig’s stance.

The Bundesliga side have rejected Liverpool’s ‘€100m package’ and will only sanction a move if there’s a ‘significant offer above €100m’. They haven’t clarified their price for Yan Diomande.

As of now, there’s no new offer from Liverpool. Meanwhile, Leipzig are in talks with his agent over an improved contract.

The situation around the attacker is ‘very dynamic’. There would be more developments if the Reds return with a new bid.

Diomande has a contract lasting until 2030, and Transfermarkt value him at €90m. He managed 13 goals and 10 assists from 36 matches.
