An Arsenal And Bournemouth Swap Deal Involving £80M Midfielder Could Be On The Cards

**Arsenal’s attempts to sign Alex Scott could be aided by Bournemouth’s interest in Leandro Trossard.**

The [_Daily Mail_](https://www.dailymail.com/sport/football/article-15916523/arsenal-morgan-rogers-interest.html) claim that Trossard, who is currently at the World Cup with Belgium, is a target for the Cherries.

He is closing in on the final year of his contract at the Emirates, and there is very little prospect of his current deal being extended, despite having started 32 times in all competitions last season.

To prevent the 31-year-old from leaving for nothing next year, the Gunners may have to consider letting him go this summer, and Bournemouth’s pursuit of the winger does present an opportunity.

Scott is one of six midfielders on Arsenal’s shortlist

Manager Mikel Arteta is said to be keen on reinforcing his options in the middle of the park, with the likes of Christian Norgaard expected to leave the Emirates over the coming weeks.

It is believed that the London club have spoken to the agents of several midfielders, including Scott, Lille’s [**Ayyoub Bouaddi**](https://goonernews.com/blog/arsenal-transfer-news-ayyoub-bouaddi-alan-smith-exclusive/), Roma’s Manu Kone, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Larsson and two others.

A swap deal could reduce the price of recruiting Scott

------------------------------------------------------

The _Daily Mail_ report that Bournemouth value their midfielder at around £80m, which is probably a lot more than Arsenal would be willing to pay.

Sporting director Andrea Berta is also hoping to snap up Morgan Rogers or Bradley Barcola to strengthen the front three, while a right-back is expected to be brought in too, so the transfer budget will only stretch so far.

With that in mind, offering Trossard in part exchange for Scott could be the way to go in order to reduce the cost of recruiting the England Under-21 international.

For now, Scott is just one of several midfield targets under consideration, but it is definitely a situation to keep a close eye on.
