There was speculation suggesting that the Gunners had won the race for the 17-year-old, but X account Geo Team deny that this is the case.

It is believed that three clubs are currently battling it out for Bartishvili, with Mikel Arteta’s side and Liverpool having made “identical offers” for the player.

Ligue One side Paris FC are also in the mix, and they are trying to tempt the youngster with the prospect of getting first team football straight away.

Bartishvili has shared the story

The Georgian youth international has seemingly backed up the claims, having added an Instagram story with Geo Team‘s report on Monday morning:

Bartishvili is said to be weighing up his options, and he is expected to make a final decision on his future next month.

He is currently on loan at Iberia 1999, who play a Champions League qualifier against Tallinna FC Flora in July, and he wants to focus on that tie before signing with a new team.

Arsenal will have to wait to sign the player

Due to work permit rules that were put in place following the UK’s departure from the European Union, English clubs can only officially recruit foreign players when they turn 18.

Bartishvili’s birthday is in March, which means that the transfer can only be confirmed in the summer of 2027. Going by the sheer amount of interest in the Georgian, it seems that he is a talent well worth waiting for.

After Napoli plucked Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from the obscurity of Georgian football several years ago, it seems the Gunners and others are looking to repeat the trick with Bartishvili.
