Former Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun is expected to be on the move again this summer, with his impressive World Cup performances increasing interest in the United States international.
Balogun has enjoyed a strong tournament on home soil and has helped the United States reach the knockout stages with a series of eye-catching displays.
The 24-year-old scored twice in a 4-1 win over Paraguay and followed that up with another influential performance against Australia as his reputation continued to grow.
According to reports, Monaco now expect Balogun’s future to become one of the major talking points of the transfer window.
The Ligue 1 side signed the striker from Arsenal in 2023 after his outstanding loan spell at Reims, where he emerged as one of the most prolific young forwards in French football.
Balogun has since registered 31 goals in 91 appearances for Monaco and remains a regular starter for both club and country.
However, with no progress made on a contract extension and his current deal running until 2028, a transfer this summer is increasingly viewed as the most likely outcome.
Premier League clubs are understood to be monitoring the situation closely, while interest has also emerged from elsewhere in Europe.
A return to England is considered a realistic possibility.
That development could prove beneficial for Arsenal.
When Balogun joined Monaco, Arsenal negotiated a significant sell-on clause (17.5 percent), ensuring the club would receive a percentage of any future transfer fee.
With Monaco expected to seek a fee in the region of €50 million, any sale could provide Arsenal with a useful financial boost without the club needing to lift a finger.
It would represent another example of the long-term planning implemented by Arsenal’s recruitment department in recent years.
Balogun’s continued rise has also reinforced the strength of the club’s academy pathway.
The striker joined Arsenal as a youngster and progressed through Hale End before breaking into the first-team picture under Mikel Arteta.
Although opportunities were limited in north London, his development in France has continued at an impressive rate.
His pace, movement and ability to attack space behind defenders have become defining features of his game.
Balogun has also improved his creativity, finishing among the leading Ligue 1 forwards for chances created during the 2025-26 campaign.
The World Cup has only strengthened his position in the market.
With a sell-on clause in place and Balogun’s value continuing to climb, the Gunners could still benefit from his next career move nearly three years after his departure from the Emirates Stadium.
