Morgan Rogers’ future will play a significant role in shaping Aston Villa’s summer transfer window.
The 23-year-old is being targeted by Arsenal in a move that would likely represent a club-record departure for Villa, should it materialise.
Rogers, who has five years remaining on his contract, would command a substantial fee given the length of his deal, his age, and his importance to Unai Emery’s squad.
Having joined Villa from Middlesbrough in January 2024 for £8 million, rising to £15 million, a sale would generate a significant profit for the club.
However, it has been claimed that Villa are not entertaining any interest unless a club is willing to pay more than £100 million.
Rogers himself would reportedly be open to the move, especially after Arsenal won the league last season and are expected to challenge for back-to-back titles next term, while also having reached the Champions League final under Mikel Arteta.
talkSPORT claims that he is even “keen” on the transfer, which would likely also bring a pay rise, given Arsenal’s larger wage bill compared to Villa’s.
Rogers has recorded 34 goal contributions across the last two Premier League seasons, scoring 18 goals and providing 16 assists.
He also scored in Villa’s 3–0 win over Freiburg in the Europa League final last month.
