Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli has been raving about his former Arsenal teammate Kieran Tierney…
The pair struck up a close friendship at Arsenal
The pair struck up a close friendship when Tierney had moved to the Emirates Stadium back in the summer window of 2019, when he broke the Scottish transfer record for exports, heading to London for £25 million.
Martinelli is still at Arsenal doing his thing, whilst KT has moved back home to Celtic where he made his name in the game of football as a youngster, before the riches of the English Premier League came calling.
Both players arrived at the current English champions in the same transfer window and immediately struck up a close bond and connection.

“He’s so kind and so humble as well”
When quizzed about the pair’s relationship, the Brazil forward said: “Yeah, he’s my guy. When I got to Arsenal, he came the same year. He’s one of the best guys I’ve met in football. He’s so kind and so humble as well.
“They just won the league so happy for him”
“So rapid as well! We used to joke who was the quickest in the sessions, in my opinion, it was him. He’s a great player, he’s doing well in Scotland now. They (Celtic) just won the league so happy for him.”

They go head-to-head when Scotland take on Brazil
Tierney and his former Arsenal confidant will go head-to-head when Scotland take on Brazil in their Group C crunch match over in the USA this Wednesday night, and the attacker is hoping his Scots friend doesn’t do anything to spoil his evening.
“I’m always cheering for him”
“I hope he doesn’t play so well against us. I’m always cheering for him,” the Brazilian international stated tongue-in-cheek, as reported by Hayters TV.
Scotland of course have three points on the board already after that win over Haiti and then the 1-0 defeat to Morocco last Friday. Should Steve Clarke’s team qualify for the knockout rounds of the historic competition, they will have to avoid a chastising defeat against Brazil, as a bare minimum.
Park the Bus Killie Style
If they could manage a point, they would be pretty much guaranteed a spot, whilst a solid goal difference with the current points could also do the trick, depending on events elsewhere. Steve Clarke has every reason going to park the bus and as we all saw during his time at Kilmarnock he doesn’t need too much encouragement to do that!
Sometimes needs must.
