Arsenal supporters have been reacting online after reports suggested the club are among a number of sides monitoring Marseille forward Mason Greenwood.
The attacker enjoyed a productive campaign in France and has once again become the subject of transfer speculation, with several clubs reportedly keeping tabs on his situation. However, if social media reaction is anything to go by, many Arsenal fans appear largely indifferent to the prospect of seeing Greenwood arrive at the Emirates Stadium.
While transfer rumours involving attacking players often generate excitement among Arsenal faithful, this particular link has been met with a noticeable lack of enthusiasm across social media platforms.
One supporter wrote on X: “Honestly, I don’t see this happening and I’m not particularly interested either. There are bigger priorities.”
Another fan posted: “Every day it’s a new winger linked to Arsenal. Greenwood doesn’t move me one bit.”
Several supporters suggested that Arsenal should focus on strengthening other positions rather than pursuing another wide forward.
One fan commented: “Can we just sign a striker and a midfielder? Not bothered about this rumour at all.”
Another wrote: “Feels like agent talk. I’m scrolling straight past this one.”
There were also supporters who questioned whether Greenwood would fit into Mikel Arteta’s current squad-building strategy.
One social media user posted: “Arteta has been very careful about building the dressing room culture. I can’t see Arsenal seriously pursuing this.”
Another added: “Regardless of ability, this just doesn’t feel like an Arsenal signing.”
Others simply appeared exhausted by the volume of transfer speculation that emerges during the summer window.
One fan joked: “Arsenal linked with Greenwood, Rodrygo, Leao, Williams and about 47 other forwards this week alone.”
Another posted: “Wake me up when there’s an actual bid.”
Many supporters also pointed out that Arsenal already have significant depth in wide areas, making the rumour difficult to get excited about.
One fan wrote: “We’ve got Saka, Martinelli, Trossard and Nwaneri getting opportunities. I’m struggling to see where he fits.”
Another commented: “This is one of those links where I just shrug and move on.”
While there were a handful of fans who acknowledged Greenwood’s talent on the pitch, even some of those supporters stopped short of actively pushing for a move.
One post read: “Good player, sure. But not a signing I’m desperate to see Arsenal make.”
Another simply stated: “If it happens, it happens. If it doesn’t, I won’t lose any sleep.”
For now, the reaction from Arsenal fans appears to be one of indifference rather than excitement. As the rumour mill continues to spin, most supporters seem far more focused on the club’s pursuit of a striker and midfield reinforcements than the possibility of Greenwood arriving in north London.
