Everton have been linked with a potential transfer move for West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen
Everton have been linked with a move for Jarrod Bowen. But while a Premier League title winner reckons the Blues might have their work cut out securing the West Ham United captain’s signature, he reckons “it’s going to be an interesting one” with David Moyes, the manager who brought him to London Stadium, involved.
Alan Nixon, a seasoned journalist when it comes to transfer tales, states via his Patreon that Moyes is ready to go all out to reunite himself with Bowen at Hill Dickinson Stadium, pushing a £20million bid having made the England international his first-choice target with the Irons’ relegation from the Premier League meaning a deal can be struck.
Subsequently, an article in the Athletic today states: “Aston Villa have expressed a strong interest in West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen. No club-to-club discussions have taken place and Villa view an agreement as currently difficult to do because they need to make player sales.
“Unai Emery is a huge admirer of the forward, but the 29-year-old, who has four years left on his contract, has not decided whether he wishes to leave. Industry sources say they would expect talks for the player to start at £50m, but sources at West Ham, who were relegated to the Championship last season, have indicated they are not looking to sell.”
And speaking courtesy of BestBettingSites, Colin Hendry, who lifted the Premier League with Blackburn Rovers in 1995, told the ECHO: “I don’t see Jarrod going to Everton, even with David Moyes there, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he left West Ham.
“I mean, I have a lot of good friends who are West Ham fans; one notably is Steve Harris (the Leytonstone-born bassist of heavy metal band Iron Maiden), who was away with me last week.
“IWe were playing in Italy, and at the back end of the season, they were talking about West Ham and what his thoughts were, because he’s an avid West Ham fan.
“Jarrod Bowen, of course, is one of the top players there who’s done ever so well for the football club. You know, would he have been in the England squad if West Ham had possibly stayed up and maybe didn’t have the poor results that found them relegated to the Championship?
“So, I think he's a good player, I think he’s a top player, I really do, and I can understand the interest coming from all different quarters. Of course, is it Everton, or is it somebody bigger than Everton where he ends up?
“It’s going to be an interesting one how that unfolds especially with Moyes involved. But I don’t think he’ll remain at West Ham.”
