Nicholas Morrow from tiny Greenville University was a part time starter from his rookie year 2017 and a core special teams player for 4 Raiders seasons but when he won a full time starting job in 2020 he had some bad injury luck, missing a couple games that year then the entire 2021 season with a foot injury before signing with the Bears in 2022 where he became a 17 game starter then started 12 games for the Eagles in 2023. He last played in the 2024 postseason (early 2025) replacing an injured Nakobe Dean and winning a super bowl ring.
Morrow was a dominating safety-rover for tiny Greenville University, becoming the first NFL player ever signed from his school on 5/4/2017. He had participated in nearby Northwestern University’s pro day and put up some impressive numbers including 4.52 forty, 37 inch vertical jump, 7.08 3 cone (change of direction/ agility), 23 bench press reps, with 32 inch arms at 6-0 ½, 216 lbs. In camp it was determined Morrow’s position would be linebacker and he quickly impressed and had a great preseason to make the Raiders team.
Morrow’s best season with the Raiders was 2020 when he overcame injuries to start 11 games and had 3 sacks, 9 passes defensed, and 1 INT. His time with the Raiders ended the next preseason when he sustained a serious foot injury. He worked hard to come back from the injury and had come back to the practice window when the Raiders were eliminated in the wild card round by Bengals in January 2022. His contract was up and the Raiders were outbid for his services by the Bears.
