Chelsea player determined to secure summer move – Situation ‘could be untenable’ for Blues

Earlier this year, Chelsea star Enzo Fernández said he would like to live in Spain, amid Real Madrid links.

The Premier League side were unhappy with his comments and suspended him before making peace.

Two months ago, Fernández’s agent Javier Pastore blamed the media for mixing things up and creating confusion.

At that time, he said: “Then there were a lot of interviews in a short period where he talked about his future. The media mixed things up and started saying he was going to leave Chelsea. There’s absolutely nothing to it.”

On June 2nd, Sport Witness covered claims from Spain that the Argentina international has an agreement in place with Real Madrid.

However, the midfielder now insists he wants to focus on the World Cup.

Real Madrid want Chelsea star

The La Liga side have signed Marc Cucurella from the Blues for €50m plus bonuses.

Tuesday’s edition of AS claims Los Blancos want to raid Stamford Bridge again for the 25-year-old.

Real Madrid are focusing on Enzo Fernández, after West Ham United’s Mateus Fernandes gave preference to Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Benfica is determined to join the Spanish giants and will do everything he can to secure this move.

Real Madrid had other targets before deciding to pursue Fernández, José Mourinho’s No.1 midfield target.

Chelsea have no financial need to sell, and Xabi Alonso would also like to retain the South American.

However, the latter wants Real Madrid, and therefore, his ‘situation could be untenable’ for the English club.

Mourinho’s side could start talks with the English club in the coming days. The Blues paid €121m in January 2023 and he has a contract until 2032. Real Madrid will have to invest way over €100m for his signature.

To finance this big operation, Los Blancos have to sell Eduardo Camavinga or Aurélien Tchouaméni.

Chelsea’s decision awaited

Enzo Fernández wants a Real Madrid move, and they are keen on signing him to please José Mourinho.

The Spanish giants would start talks with Chelsea in the next few days.

When there’s first contact, the Blues have to decide whether to accept the player’s wish or close the door on his exit.
