Pompey have reportedly placed a £1.3m bid for DAC Dunajska Streda midfielder Mate Tuboly.
Pompey have been given a glowing reference over reported transfer target Mate Tuboly.
Sky Sports have claimed John Mousinho’s men have launched a seven-figure offer to land the holding midfielder, who also has interest from Swansea City and Watford.
It is believed Pompey’s Championship rivals have watched Tuboly 'extensively’ over the course of the past season, with his displays helping Branislav Fodrek’s men to a second place finish in Slovakia’s top flight.
But the Blues are said to have made the first move to secure the 21-year-old, whose stock is on the rise at the Mol Arena.
The Hungary U21 captain is highly thought of with Dunajska Streda, having collected three goals and two assists in 35 appearances in all competitions last term.
Indeed, his impressive displays saw the Slovakian side hand Tuboly fresh terms in October 2025 to extend his stay until the summer of 2028.
Who is reported Pompey target Mate Tuboly?
The midfielder has so far spent two seasons at the DAC Arena, totalling 63 outings at present.
But what type of midfielder is the highly-rated 21-year-old, who is said to be attracting strong interest from the Championship?
Speaking after Tuboly’s signing in 2024, executive director Jan Van Daele detailed the positions the Hungary youth international can operate in the engine room as he gave a glowing review over the reported Pompey target.
‘Despite the fact that he is only 19 years old, the new season will be his fourth in professional football.
‘During the last season, which he spent in NBI, he gained a lot of valuable experience.
‘Now he has the chance to follow in the footsteps of his compatriots Vitalis and Csinger, who regularly play in the starting lineup. We wish him good luck in the DAC jersey.’
Amid reports of a £1.3m bid from Pompey, Tuboly is currently preparing for the new Nike Liga campaign with DAC.
The defensive midfielder is stepping up his pre-season preparations and has featured in both warm-up friendlies to date.
His most recent outing came in a 45-minute outing during a 3-2 defeat to Slovakian second-tier side Samorin on Saturday.

Marlon Pack and Luke Le Roux can operate in that position already, although the 35-year-old’s action is set to be reduced next season.
Meanwhile, Ebou Adams is expected to fill the number eight role following Andre Dozzell’s departure at the end of the campaign.
The 30-year-old is poised to be a front-line figure in Mousinho’s engine room next term after impressing following his January arrival.
Tuboly’s fellow countryman Mark Kosznovszky still remains sidelined due to a serious knee injury, which was sustained in December 2025. The Hungarian isn’t expected to complete his comeback until later this year.
