Brazil have confirmed that Raphinha is undergoing “intensive treatment” after sustaining another hamstring injury but otherwise haven’t offered much detail on his condition.
According to AS, Raphinha has “a small tear in his right hamstring” and the injury is a little more serious than Brazil are letting in.
Barcelona have seen Raphinha already suffer two relapses of the same injury this season and are said to be warning that the risk of another one is “extremely high if the player is rushed back.”
The decision on when Raphinha will play again is down to Brazil boss Carlo Ancelotti and Barca will be hoping the Italian makes the right decision when it comes to the forward.
Raphinha won’t feature in Brazil’s final group game against Scotland, but it hasn’t been ruled out yet that he could feature later in the tournament if his recovery goes well.
There’s also been speculation that Raphinha is hoping he could return in time for the quarter-finals, if Brazil make it that far.
