Liverpool player Harvey Elliott cradles newborn in chance barbershop encounter

Ryan O’Mara, 29, from Haydock, was visiting the Trafford Centre’s Barbers No 1 in JD Sports on Friday, June 19 when he met the football star.

Ryan was with his partner, Ema, and their newborn, Jackson James.

He also met Elliott’s father, Scott, who offered him a free haircut and a photo with the footballer.

Ryan said: "I'm a big Liverpool fan, it just made my day.

"Harvey said ‘do you want me to hold your little baby for you?’

"It was like that picture of Messi with Yamine Lamal.

"He was just a genuinely nice person, it was nice to experience that."

Tesco worker Ryan said he has been struggling after a diagnosis with hip dysplasia and Crohn's Disease, and had not been able to go out much recently.

"We’ve just had our baby, we wanted to go out and have a nice day and it turned out to be a really nice day.

“Harvey’s dad said he would send a little present to my grandad, which was nice, he’s 82 and supported Liverpool since he was little.”

Since Ryan shared the experience on social media, it has gone viral, with 1.5 million views on Tiktok.
