Liverpool want€300k/week ace: Contacts made to explore conditions for a deal

Liverpool, along with several other Premier League sides and Juventus, have contacted Real Madrid about signing Eduardo Camavinga, but the Frenchman doesn’t want to leave.

A report in late April from El Debate suggested that Los Blancos no longer believed they could rely on Camavinga, and so they were prepared to sell him, with Liverpool one of his many suitors.

At the time, Sky Switzerland reporter Sacha Tavolieri claimed that the Reds had held discussions to sign the 23-year-old. He said: “According to our information, Real Madrid are open to a sale should a convincing offer be made, with a price tag of around €80 million . A significant sum, but still within reach for several top European clubs.

“Behind the scenes, things are heating up. Camavinga’s agency, CAA Stellar, has already made contact with several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool and Arsenal, two teams looking to strengthen their midfield.”

Now, it appears Real Madrid’s hopes of selling him will be blocked by the player’s own unwillingness to leave.

Camavinga is still only 23 but he's not developing at a rate that matches his talent. This is him at 16 making Verratti look 2nd best. Why is it that 7 years later his game still looks so raw? He's stagnating at Madrid pic.twitter.com/JJOfrs2kGP

Liverpool want Camavinga, Real Madrid want to sell him, but he doesn’t want to leave

According to a report from Spanish outlet SPORT, Real Madrid will struggle to offload Camavinga this summer due to the player’s lack of desire to leave the Santiago Bernabeu. After a poor 2025-26 season, Camavinga was not included in France’s 2026 World Cup squad.

The report states: “Manchester United, Juventus,Chelsea, and Liverpool have also contacted Real Madrid to inquire about the player’s situation. He is under contract until 2029 and is one of the club’s protected signings, with a€1 billion release clause, having been signed for €31 million plus €9 million in add-ons .

“However, his market value has fallen by €50 million since 2024, from €100 million to the current €50 million.

Real Madrid has valued him at €60 million and expects bidding to begin this summer. However, selling him will be difficult , not for lack of interest or offers, but becausethe player is unwilling to leave the team . Sources close to him indicatehe has no intention of leaving and is confident he can turn the situation around.”

Liverpool could make use of Camavinga, who is combative, energetic, and, most importantly, technically gifted. However, FSG only tend to target players who make it clear they want to join and don’t tend to get involved in ‘maybe’ transfers.

The young midfielder earns €300,000 per week with Madrid, but his wages won’t be the problem if he doesn’t actually want to move anywhere.
