There is a belief that there is some frustration from the Yan Diomande camp, at least according to the Daily Mail’s Lewis Steele.

It was reported by French outlet Media Foot that the Reds have already agreed personal terms with the Ivory Coast international.

The 19-year-old has lit up the 2026 World Cup with Ivory Coast, producing a man‑of‑the‑match display in their opening‑game win over Ecuador and providing an assist in his nation’s 2-1 defeat to Germany.

Now Lewis Steele, speaking on his YouTube channel, first asserted that from his conversations with sources – he feels that the Anfield move is going to happen:

“I have been speaking to people from the Leipzig end, and from Diomande’s camp, and also people from this country [England] as well.”

“I really do think this one will happen. Publicly, Leipzig are saying he’s not for sale… but privately that are conceding that they going to have to sell him.”

“They are standing firm on their 130-million-euro valuation.”

However, the Daily Mail reporter also added that Diomande and his camp are a bit frustrated that club-to-club talks are taking longer than they anticipated:

“From the player’s side, I think he definitely wants the move. There is a little bit of frustration on the player’s side from what I’ve heard that’s it’s taking longer than some people have anticipated.”

“I’m talking about his camp, who maybe thought talks were going to go a bit quicker – they perhaps are now resigned to the fact that it may drag on after the World Cup,” Steele explained.

“Leipzig may come down slightly on their valuation. They are still briefing that they want to renew his contract with a release clause.”

“Behind closed doors, I don’t they really believe they can do it. It’s worth saying that Leipzig have a good relationship with Liverpool going back five or six years.”

Diomande is next in action on Thursday for his nation’s final group stage clash against Curaçao in Group E.
