The NFL has made a big time decision on the immediate future of one quarterback hoping to play this season. The news was reported on Tuesday afternoon and has immediately gone viral.

NFL Denies Brendan Sorsby For 2026 Season
As the league has elected not to hold a supplemental draft for 2026. This means that Brendan Sorsby cannot join the NFL until the 2027 NFL Draft.
A major factor in the NFL’s decision was its right under the collective bargaining agreement to hold a draft. Officials felt that holding a draft would ultimately cause distractions for teams as they begin training camps.
“His application carries with it a lot of issues,” an NFL source told ESPN. “Core of the game integrity issues.”
Sorsby admitted to placing thousands of bets on college and pro sports, wagers which totaled in excess of $90,000. In addition, 40 of these bets were on Indiana football while he was on the team’s roster.
According to Sorsby’s attorney, Jeffrey Kessler, the NFL’s decision to not hold a supplemental draft is in violation of the collective bargaining agreement and the law. They intend on bringing this matter to the attention of the NFL Players’ Association as soon as possible.
It is worth noting that Sorsby was the top player in the NCAA transfer portal this offseason. Unfortunately, his admission to gambling and subsequent visit to the in-house treatment facility loomed as one of the major football stories of the offseason.
