Bayern Munich hold talks to sign Felix Nmecha

Felix Nmecha has spent the last year turning himself into the player Borussia Dortmund cannot function without.
At 25 years old, the midfielder is the man BVB are building around, and is vital to the side, expected to sit alongside Jobe Bellingham in the middle and set the tempo for the whole team.
The World Cup has sharpened the picture as Nmecha has been one of Germany’s standouts under Julian Nagelsmann, controlling games from deep just three months after an injury that nearly cost him the tournament.
As such, it’s no surprise that Bayern Munich have come calling.
According to SPORT BILD, sporting director Max Eberl has made direct contact with Nmecha’s camp to register the Bundesliga champions’ admiration.
While a summer move from Munich is described as unlikely, the contact is real, and it confirms where Nmecha now sits in Europe’s pecking order, and ultimately doesn’t rule out a summer move.

However Bayern are not alone with Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United all having enquired about Nmecha, with Real Madrid watching too.
Dortmund though, have no intention of selling. Nmecha’s deal runs to 2030, with a release clause that only activates in 2027 at around £69 million (€80 million).
As such, this summer the price is whatever BVB decide with clubs having to negotiate with the German side directly.
But as a club carrying £231 million (€268 million) in annual wages, their balance sheet has a habit of forcing sales, such as the sale of Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid, and Felix Nmecha himself is not closing any doors.
For United and Premier League, the appeal runs deeper than most as Nmecha came through Manchester City’s academy before leaving for Wolfsburg at 20.
That means that under Premier League rules he counts as a homegrown player despite being a Germany international.
Clubs must name at least eight homegrown players in a 25-man squad, and an elite central midfielder who ticks that box without filling a foreign slot is a genuinely rare asset.
