From Germany: Liverpool have inquired about€100m+ midfielder for Iraola

Liverpool have reportedly made contact to sign Borussia Dortmund star Felix Nmecha, who is one of the players to watch at the World Cup this summer.

While Liverpool are very much pursuing highly rated Morocco international Ayyou Bouaddi, the 19-year-old is not the only midfielder on their radar, with the more experienced Nmecha emerging as a key target.

Nmecha is one of the most attractive targets in terms of Andoni Iraola’s style of play and the kind of midfielder needed to carry out his tactical and physical requirements.

Arne Slot was sacked at the end of the season and replaced by Iraola, who is set to restore high-octane attacking football back to Anfield. While Slot will always be appreciated for winning the Premier League and deeply respected for his handling of the Diogo Jota tragedy, his time at the club has been brought to a close by FSG.

Iraola will now lead the club into a new era, and it appears as though Nmecha is a serious target for this new dawn.

Liverpool have asked for information on Felix Nmecha transfer, but face serious competition

According to German outlet Sport Bild, Liverpool are one of the clubs that have made contact with Nmecha’s agents, but there is fierce competition for the Borussia Dortmund star.

The report reads: “Max Eberl has recently contacted Felix Nmecha’s representatives to express Bayern’s interest. Manchester City, Manchester United, and Liverpool have all inquired about Nmecha.

“Real Madrid also has him on their radar. Nmecha has a €80m release clause in his contract, valid in 2027. A year later, in 2028, it would be around €70m. For this summer, the price is negotiable.

“Dortmund don’t want to sell, but would consider offers in excess of €100m. Bayern are actually unlikely to sign a high-calibre midfielder this summer, but Nmecha remains on their list.”

The midfield market is quite inflated currently, with the best in the world going for more than a pretty penny. If Liverpool are to sign their desired targets, they will have to spend a lot of money to do so.

Nmecha, while expensive, may be worth taking a punt on this summer.
