Saudi club make offer to sign £27m Arsenal star, propose £10m yearly wages

Newly-promoted Saudi Pro League club Al-Diraiyah have offered £17.2 million to sign Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard this summer, according to Het Belang van Limburg.

The Belgium international has been a key player for the Gunners since he arrived from Brighton & Hove Albion three years ago, but could be on the move in the near future.

Trossard received a pay rise at the Gunners last summer, but his contract was not renewed beyond June 2027. It now looks likely that Arsenal will cash in on his services.

Het Belang van Limburg now reveal Al-Diraiyah have offered £17.2m to purchase the 31-year-old, and they are also prepared to pay £8.6 million per year to the Belgian.

Arsenal poised to part ways with Trossard

Trossard has provided plenty of clutch moments in the Gunners shirt. His most notable contribution was the winning goal against West Ham United in the Premier League last month.

Despite this, he could be offloaded by the Gunners this summer. Trossard had a brilliant first half to last season with 14 goal contributions, but managed just five after the turn of the year.

The former Brighton man went on a four-month run without scoring before his winner at the London Stadium. Trossard could be past his prime soon, and Arsenal may look to recoup their investment.

Trossard was signed for an initial £20m in January 2023 with £7m in add-ons (£27m deal). Al-Diraiyah are ready to pay £17.2m for his services. This is a good figure for a player who will turn 32 in December.

Besiktas and Bournemouth are also keen on Trossard, and the final decision could be up to him. Trossard will receive £165,000 per week at Al-Diraiyah, a sum no European side can match.

Whatever the case, the Belgian ace looks poised to leave the Gunners this summer. The club’s hierarchy are planning to bring in a marquee left winger alongside a quality competitor.
