ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — The Atlanta Falcons and tight end Kyle Pitts agreed to terms Tuesday on a three-year, $54 million contract extension, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The deal is the largest three-year contract for a tight end in NFL history.

Pitts was originally set to play the 2026 season on a $15 million franchise tag, but will now receive $36 million fully guaranteed over the next two seasons, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.
The 25-year-old joins wide receiver Drake London as one of Atlanta’s key offensive players to receive an extension this offseason. London signed a four-year, $141 million contract extension on June 3 that made him one of the highest-paid receivers in the NFL.

Pitts was selected by Atlanta with the fourth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Florida. After a stellar rookie season, he averaged nearly 50 receptions and 3.5 touchdowns per year from 2022-24 before rebounding with an 88-catch, 928-yard campaign in 2025.
With Michael Penix Jr. sidelined by an ACL injury, Pitts is expected to be a primary target for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in 2026 as the Falcons begin a new era under head coach Kevin Stefanski.
With Pitts and London now signed long term, attention could soon turn to running back Bijan Robinson, who may be next in line for a new deal as Atlanta continues to solidify the core of its offense.
