Andoni Iraola mentioned in his first interview as the new Liverpool head coach that he would view every player as being like a "new signing."

That wasn't to negate the need for actual transfer moves, with Victor Munoz having since become the first addition of the new era, but instead to make a point of there being a fresh slate.

Everyone on the Reds' roster, however young or old, is set to be handed the chance to show what they can do. After that, the best decisions for everyone will be made in terms of what next season looks like, and potentially beyond.

"Really excited," Iraola said. "Really excited because obviously you know about Liverpool, you know that it's a big club, a massive club, one of the biggest in the world.

"But feeling inside and understanding a little bit more of this club, I always thought it's a special club.

"Not about the football side, also because what people think about even during the week, how they are passionate about the club and everyone, the ones who like football, the ones that probably are not as interested.

"But I have some experience with Athletic Club [as a player] that I could in some ways familiarize, but it's going to be fun to experience it from the inside.

"Everything has happened very quickly really. We just finished the season and it's when we really started thinking, 'OK, what's going to be the next step?'

"And now that we know what's happening, I want to get ready. Also the World Cup being there, we will have a chance to work especially with some of the young players.

"Because a lot of senior players being out and arriving later because of the World Cup, I think it gives us the chance to know better the players from the Academy, some of the players that have been on loan.

Liverpool FC have launched their new home kit for the 2026/27, inspired by iconic adidas strip worn during the club's 1989/90 title-winning campaign.

"They will be an important part of the first part of pre-season, the American tour. And I think in that way it works very well for us because it will give us a lot of information before we really take decisions before we start the season."

One player who will be hoping to take the next step is Trey Nyoni. Like Rio Ngumoha, he is one to watch for the future, and a real gem.

According to The Athletic, Nyoni has interest from the Championship and around Europe this summer, and the 18-year-old is ready to play more often having made 14 senior appearances under Arne Slot last term.

Previously at Leicester, Nyoni has been linked with Coventry City in the past. The former Liverpool coach Vitor Matos, who is now at Swansea City, could be one of those eyeing the teenager in the second tier.
