Let This Kid Play’: Browns Reporter Makes Bold Case for Shedeur Sanders’ QB1 Opportunity Amid…

Who is going to acquire the Cleveland Browns’ starting quarterback position is still a big question mark as the rumors are in the air that the organization might explore some more quarterback options including former Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby.

The Browns’ hunt for finding their quarterback seems never-ending. Fans and analysts are expecting the Browns to come up with a decision and believe that the organization’s focus should be on evaluating the quarterbacks already on the roster.

In the recent episode on ESPN, Browns reporter Tony Rizzo talks about the current Browns franchise’s quarterback situation and was seen praising Shedeur Sanders.

He said:

“How in the hell is Shedeur not the starting quarterback at this moment? “He finished the season on the field, winning his last two games. You know any organization that would take a rookie quarterback who got no reps whatsoever in training camp and in his first 10 weeks of a season. They throw him in, feed him to the lions; somehow, he survives and wins three games, including the last two against their divisional opponents. He’s got to earn the starting job.”

In the recent conversation with the audience, Rizzo went on a rant about how Sanders should be given an opportunity and his performance should decide his future with the organization.

He also added:

“What is going on behind the scenes? How can this kid that was rated as a late first-round draft pick not get on a field for a team that sucks?! “They’re not even giving him reps! That’s on the coach, man. Stefanski’s gonna have to answer for that, and it might come at the end of the year, and it might come in the form of firing him. What is going on?”

The ESPN host also believes that this year should be about what Sanders could bring to the organization. Rizzo believes that the organization itself doesn’t want to get Sanders on the field.

Sanders has been with the organization since April 2025. Rizzo questioned the franchise and said it’s hard to believe that kid is not ready to play.

As the Browns prepare for the 2026 season, the franchise faces an important decision regarding its future at the position. Training camp could ultimately provide the answer to whether Sanders is ready to take the next step and emerge as a serious contender for the QB1 role.

Browns GM Andrew Berry Talks About Shedeur Sanders Growth.

The Browns’ general manager Andrew Berry talks about Sanders’ phenomenal growth at the conclusion of the Browns’ offseason workout program.

Second-year QB Shedeur Sanders has proved himself during the offseason training program. In a recent conversation with 92.3 The Fan, he said:

“I think he did a phenomenal job this offseason. That really started in January and February, and then certainly as we got into having real practices in May, his growth has been tremendous. We’re all very excited to see Shedeur’s fall camp, preseason, and things of that nature when we get into padded situations, live situations, and less scripted ones. But his growth has truly been phenomenal.”

Berry also added that the organization is excited to see Shedeur’s fall camp and preseason performances, as those situations will be live and less scripted.

It’s an amazing opportunity for Sanders to show his development and translate it onto the field. The quarterback might be able to end the organization’s hunt for a franchise quarterback. It is safe to say that the coming months will be crucial for the organization’s future as well as Sanders’ long-term plans as the Browns’ quarterback.
