Manchester United players continue to use their platforms away from football to support important causes and charitable initiatives.

Earlier this year, we reported how Mason Mount took on a managerial role with Wishes United FC as part of a project organised alongside Make-A-Wish UK.

Commercial partnerships and ambassadorial roles have also become increasingly common among United stars.

Now, another player has officially announced an important new position away from the pitch.

The announcement was made through Instagram.

The individual revealed they had become an official ambassador for one of the United Kingdom’s leading cancer charities.

The player in question is Ella Toone.

Manchester United star becomes Prostate Cancer UK ambassador

Toone confirmed through an emotional Instagram post that she has become an official ambassador for Prostate Cancer UK.

The Manchester United midfielder shared the news alongside a heartfelt message explaining why the role means so much to her personally.

In the post, Toone praised the charity’s work in driving breakthroughs in diagnosis and treatment.

She explained that advancements in screening could help more men receive treatment earlier and spend more time with their loved ones.

Toone also said that if sharing her own story encourages even one person to start a conversation or get checked, then it would be worthwhile.

The England international concluded the post by encouraging supporters to donate to the charity if possible.

Last month, Toone received further recognition for her contributions to football when she officially received an MBE.

The honour reflected her achievements for both Manchester United and England, where she has established herself as one of the country’s most influential players.

Off-field roles continue to form an increasingly important part of modern football.

Not long ago, the United No.7 announced her partnership with famous food company Warburtons.

For Ella Toone this latest appointment carries far greater personal significance.

It will allow her to continue raising awareness around an issue affecting thousands of families across the country.
