Marvin Mims Jr is one of the most intriguing wide receivers for the Denver Broncos this upcoming season. While there is going to be a spotlight on Jaylen Waddle, Mims is looking to figure out where he stands in the NFL. While playing on a contract year is a difficult thing to do as it is in the back of your mind, Mims is ready to embrace his current situation on a team with Super Bowl aspirations. Let’s take a closer look at what he had to say regarding his mindset heading into the 2026 NFL season.

While speaking to DNVR’s Zac Stevens, Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr discussed how he’s enjoying this season as it could be the last one with the team.
“I think I proved it time and time again just in different stretches, different opportunities. I feel as if the coaching staff knows what they’re going to get from me. I love making plays. I love being out there doing the things that I can do. Really, it’s just whatever the team needs from me.
“Sometimes I’m not in the most fortunate situations. Sometimes I am a little irritated with my situation, but at the end of the day I’m blessed to be where I am today, standing right here where I am. I love Denver. I love the city, I love the fans, love the atmosphere, love my teammates, love my coaches. So, with this possibly being my last year, I’m just going to enjoy it to the fullest, going through it carefree and just play my hardest because we have a real chance to do something extremely special.”
Marvin Mims Jr is entering the final year of his rookie contract, and since he was a second-round pick, the only two options to keep him is to place the franchise tag or extend him. The Oklahoma product has struggled to put up some major numbers as he recorded 37 receptions on 51 targets for 322 yards (8.7 yards per catch) with one receiving touchdown. In the postseason, Marvin Mims Jr played well as he caught 12 of the 14 passes thrown his way for 155 yards (12.9 yards per reception) and a touchdown.
With the trade for Jaylen Waddle, the wide receiver room for the Denver Broncos is loaded, so the opportunities may not be there for Mims. With Courtland Sutton, Troy Franklin, and Waddle expected to be the starters, it will be intriguing to see how Marvin Mims Jr looks playing for his future.
