Arsenal are expected to be active in the transfer market this summer to hand Mikel Arteta the tools to build upon their Premier League title success.

The Gunners celebrated abolishing their 22-year wait for a domestic title under the Spaniard after watching three consecutive challenges end in failure. Rather than stick with the squad that got them there, Arteta is already sizing up at least five signings to add fresh blood to his squad.

Morgan Rogers is on Arsenal's list of targets this summer, football.london understands. The 23-year-old is open to joining the club, despite the fact Unai Emery's men qualified for the Champions League, and also has strong interest from Manchester United, Liverpool, PSG and Chelsea.

Rogers, who scored 10 goals and assisted seven in 37 appearances last season, is viewed as the marquee signing needed to bolster Arsenal's attack after several players fell short of expectations last season. Arteta could cull two players at least with Leandro Trossard reportedly been in talks with Besiktas, while Gabriel Martinelli could also be sold having notched one league goal all season.

With spots on the left flank to fill, Marcus Rashford is a potential replacement to keep an eye on. While Manchester United would be reluctant to let Rashford join a close rival, their options of selling abroad are limited after Barcelona signed Anthony Gordon from Newcastle.

If they have turned their back on the idea of a permanent deal following his successful loan spell at Camp Nou, Arsenal may be able to agree a deal for the 28-year-old, who is said to have a £40m release clause in his contract at Old Trafford. It remains to be seen exactly where Rashford and Rogers would fit in under Arteta if the pair arrive this summer, though he could compete with Eberechi Eze for the No. 10 spot with doubts emerging over captain Martin Odegaard's future.

The Norwegian endured a personally frustrating campaign in statistical terms, scoring just once in the Premier League all season. Off the back of his first World Cup appearance and turning 28 later this year, he may decide it's time for a new challenge if Rogers takes his spot as the team's primary playmaker.

Odegaard has admirers in Germany and Italy and would command a sizeable fee to reinvest in the market. Combined with the proceeds of Trossard and Martinelli's potential sales, Arteta will have funds to spend this summer.

Ayyoub Bouaddi celebrates

Rogers is expected to cost around £100 million to prise away from Aston Villa, while Rashford may set the north London side back about £30m. If they also consider the need for a new central midfielder - Ayyoub Bouaddi is widely-known to be on their shortlist - Arsenal could easily surpass the £200m mark for spending this summer.

Bouaddi, 18, has been one of the standout performers at the World Cup so far for Morocco and interest in the Lille starlet is set to ramp up in the coming weeks. football.london understands Arsenal have been tracking the wonderkid since 2025, with sporting director Berta having already made inroads with Bouaddi's representatives.

There is a certain risk attached to spending a large amount on a player who is far from a finished article, but Bouaddi has demonstrated signs of maturity beyond his young age. If Arsenal could complete a deal for around £60m, it could prove to be a sound long-term investment - not only if it also means lightening Declan Rice's workload in the engine room.

football.london reported earlier this week that Oscar Mingueza - available to sign on a free transfer from Celta Vigo - is a reported target to strengthen Arteta's options at right-back. Ben White could leave with interest from Premier League clubs, and Mingueza may be drafted into the first team if Jurrien Timber's fitness issues continue after he was ruled out of the World Cup.

Piero Hincapie is set to remain in north London as Arsenal will complete a permanent switch for the Ecuador international. The 24-year-old joined from Bayer Leverkusen on a loan deal with an obligation to buy and has impressed enough to earn his place in the team next season, competing with Riccardo Calafiori and Myles Lewis-Skelly.

David Raya, William Saliba and Gabriel will continue to form the steely backline for Arsenal next season, while Rice will patrol the midfield as their defensive linchpin. Arteta's selection choices towards the end of the campaign suggest that Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz are first-choice as the right winger and striker options ahead of 2025 signings Viktor Gyokeres and Noni Madueke.
