**Yan Diomande has been urged to avoid joining Liverpool in order to continue his development in Germany as a mega-money move to Anfield beckons.**
Liverpool are reportedly closing in on a marquee move for the 19-year-old, after his 13 goals and 10 assists for RB Leipzig this season. Diomande has impressed even further in his opening two World Cup games for the Ivory Coast.
However, the jump to the Premier League is unlike any other. Not only is it incredibly physically demanding, but the tactical and technical demands are steep.
There should be no doubt that Diomande is good enough, but one thing Liverpool should take into consideration is that there is the risk of overplaying him, which would lead to injury.
Mohamed Salah was a machine, but with the Egyptian leaving the club, Diomande would be the only right winger at the club, although new signing Victor Munoz can play anywhere across the front three.
Yan Diomande urged to snub Liverpool move to stay in Germany

German football icon Stefan Freund has used Florian Wirtz as an example of how moving from the Bundesliga to the Premier League can result in a stall in development. It’s not really a fair case study, however, as Wirtz still managed 17 goal contributions under Arne Slot.
Yet, Freund has urged Diomande to snub Liverpool. It might be a bit late for that too, amid claims from [Media Foot](https://mediafoot.net/info-media-foot-accord-liverpool-diomande-le-psg-jette-leponge/) that Diomande has agreed on personal terms with the Reds.
Freund told [_Sport Bild_](https://sportbild.bild.de/): _“He should stay in Leipzig for another year._
_“If he maintains his excellent form next season, he can still move to a big club. Because the next move will bring pressure – much more pressure than he’s faced so far._
_“He can afford to have the odd bad game in Leipzig. If he leaves now, and if it’s not the right club, he’ll take a step back. Physically, he should be able to manage it._
_“But take Florian Wirtz as an example: he’s joined the reigning champion and was expected to win the title straight away. The pressure on him is immense._
_“In the Premier League, he’s up against better full backs than in the Bundesliga. It’s a different kettle of fish – it’s a real battle there.”_
