Manchester United are now said to be ‘prioritising’ a left-wing addition along with their ongoing midfielder search.
That’s according to MailSport, which adds that Crysencio Summerville is currently the most highly-regarded and attainable target on INEOS’ shortlist.
Summerville: The state of play
The 24-year-old is likely to be on the move this summer following West Ham’s relegation from the top flight.
He is valued at £50 million, although his stellar World Cup performances may prompt the Irons to try and increase their valuation, given the interest Summerville is garnering.
After the Netherlands’ first two group-stage matches, the attacker has returned a hugely impressive two goals and one assist; he scored to restore his nation’s lead against Japan in their opener, before adding two goal contributions off the bench in their 5-1 thumping of Sweden.

It remains to be seen if United could pull off any kind of double deal for Summerville and his Hammers teammate Mateus Fernandes, who’s also being heavily linked with an Old Trafford switch.
Summerville signing dependent on Marcus Rashford sale
Yet, a move for the Dutchman would reportedly hinge on Marcus Rashford being sold.
Barcelona letting his £26m buy option expire means he once again faces an uncertain future on the transfer front.
For the Carrington graduate to get his wish of continuing at Camp Nou, new terms would need to be negotiated, but United are uninterested in Barcelona’s proposal of taking him on loan for another full campaign.

The fact that Rashford’s contract, which contains a £40m release clause for any club except Liverpool and Manchester City, runs until 2028 means there is now a very real possibility that he revives his United career.

INEOS would prefer to shift the England star’s £315,000-a-week wages off the books once and for all.
However, if no suitors come in with reasonable offers, it’s more likely that he’ll be back wearing the United shirt again in 2026/2027 – albeit without No.10 on the back, as Matheus Cunha has since inherited the iconic digits.
