Arsenal star Declan Rice was seen limping after the drab draw against Ghana at the World Cup on Tuesday, according to renowned journalist David Ornstein.
He was spotted with his left calf heavily strapped, immediately raising concerns over his involvement for the final group game against Panama.
Rice has been managing several fitness concerns in recent weeks. He was taken off in the second half against Croatia after he felt discomfort around his upper hamstring and lower back.
The 27-year-old later admitted that he had been playing through neural pain in his hamstring during the latter stages of the season.
Despite those struggles, Rice has continued to perform at an elite level for both club and country.
He has started every match at the last three major tournaments for the Three Lions.
Manager Thomas Tuchel will be worried about his key star and will have a big decision to make ahead of the next game.
England currently sit top of Group L with four points from two matches. However, qualification for the Round of 32 is not yet guaranteed and the Three Lions still need at least a point against Panama.
Rice produced six key passes and completed an outstanding 93 per cent of his passes against Ghana.
If England are serious about reaching the World Cup final, Rice will almost certainly need to play a leading role.
His injury problems could also be a huge headache for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.
Rice is the heartbeat of the the North London side. Even a short spell on the sidelines could have significant consequences for Arsenal’s ambitions next season.
