Offer submitted for Manchester United player–Wolves back-up option if refused

Trabzonspor have Wolverhampton Wanderers‘ José Sá as an alternative to Manchester United‘s André Onana.

The Turkish club’s priority is to sign the Cameroon international. If they cannot convince him, Trabzonspor will immediately shift their focus to the Wolves goalkeeper.

Last summer, Manchester United let the 30-year-old join Trabzonspor on loan without a purchase clause.

He kept six clean sheets and conceded 40 goals from 33 matches and played a role in their Turkish Cup success.

Two months ago, Trabzonspor president Ertuğrul Doğan expressed his desire to keep the goalkeeper if the conditions are right.

On June 4th, Doğan said he’s optimistic of securing Onana’s services, after confirming talks.

“We speak with Onana every day. We won’t have any financial difficulties. We’ll make the necessary sacrifices. I don’t think we will experience any setbacks. But if we do, we will find another goalkeeper of the same quality,” he said.

Not giving up on Manchester United player

The Süper Lig side continue their efforts to sign André Onana and have no plans of giving up yet.

That’s according to Sabah, who covers the latest on the Manchester United goalkeeper and the Wolves man.

For now, there’s no clarity whether Trabzonspor can extend the former Inter Milan man’s stay.

The Turkish club have Onana as the priority and have made an offer to him. The report makes no mention of the details or whether they want to sign him on a new loan or a permanent transfer.

Trabzonspor are waiting for Onana’s response and should he refuse, they will explore the option to sign José Sá.

The groundwork is already done by conducting negotiations with the 33-year-old Portugal international. The Wolves stopper’s response has been positive, and Fatih Tekke’s side will make advances only if Onana refuses to accept their offer.

No future at Manchester United

After an impressive debut season, Senne Lammens will continue as the No.1 for the Red Devils.

André Onana is unlikely to get regular minutes if he were to return to Old Trafford. In short, he has no future with the Premier League side despite having a contract until 2028.
