Saudi Pro League side Al-Diraiyah have submitted a £17million bid for Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard, it has been claimed.

Trossard, 31, helped the Gunners win the Premier League title last season, scoring six goals and providing six assists in 31 top-flight appearances. His most notable contribution came with three matches to go, as he netted a late winner in the 1-0 success at West Ham.

However, there is talk that Trossard could be sold this summer. Arsenal are interested in signing a new left-sided winger with Paris Saint-Germain's Bradley Barcola and Bournemouth's Eli Junior Kroupi among those targeted.

It was reported earlier this month that Arsenal were 'open to offers' for Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli, the club's current longest-serving player, as they look to improve in the wide areas.

Now, according to Belgian outlet Het Nieuwsblad, Saudi club Al-Diraiyah have expressed an interest in signing Trossard and even approached the Gunners with a £17m offer.

Al-Diraiyah are looking to bolster their squad after winning promotion to Saudi's top-tier last season and Dougie Freedman, who is the club's sporting director, has identified the Belgium international as a top target.

It's claimed they are willing to offer Trossard, who has 12 months left on his current deal at the Emirates Stadium, a contract worth almost £9m-a-year if he indicates he is willing to move to the Middle East, a deal the report claims is a 'monster' offer.

However, ex-Arsenal forward Alan Smith warned his former club about selling Trossard, claiming he should be retained following a "great season" as he helped them win their first Premier League title in 22 years.

"The only one from that list I wouldn’t want to see go is Leandro Trossard," Smith told BestBettingSites. "I think he had a great season. He can score important goals and he’s a very clever player, versatile as well. He’s mainly played on the left, but he can come inside. He’s a big fan favourite as well.

"Looking at Gabriel Martinelli, it’s been a frustrating few years for him. Ben White, yeah, again, I’m sure there’s defenders coming to the club so he might feel like it's time to go. I can see Gabriel Jesus going as well, certainly if Arsenal buy another striker which it looks like they're trying to do. I think he would be the first one that they would try and offload. But Leandro Trossard, for me, is one you wouldn’t want to let go."
