Manchester United’s goalkeeping department continues to undergo major changes as the club prepares for the new season.
The arrival of Senne Lammens and his impressive debut season as the first-choice goalkeeper has created further competition for places.
That has left several options needing decisions, especially younger players searching for regular senior football.
One of those players is Radek Vitek, who has seen his reputation grow after an excellent loan campaign.
Now, Premier League clubs are monitoring the Czech goalkeeper’s situation at Old Trafford.
Manchester United goalkeeper Radek Vitek has become a target for several clubs this summer, with Hull City among those interested in signing the highly rated youngster.
Premier League newcomers interested in Radek Vitek
According to the Daily Mail, the Tigers are joined by fellow promoted sides Coventry City and Ipswich Town in keeping track of the 22-year-old, who impressed during his time away from United last season.
Radek Vitek enjoyed an excellent campaign on loan at Bristol City in the Championship, making 41 appearances and recording 12 clean sheets.
His performances earned him major recognition, with the goalkeeper winning Bristol City’s Player of the Year award, Young Player of the Year award and Players’ Player of the Year award.
Despite United’s desire to keep hold of a promising academy graduate, the situation has become complicated due to Vitek’s contract situation and his ambition for regular football.
The goalkeeper still has two years remaining on his current deal, but he has previously made it clear he does not want to spend another season as a backup option.
Speaking about his future, Vitek said, “I think at the moment [on his future], basically, it’s go to Manchester United, and we will see what the solution will be there. What does the future hold for me?
“We will see what the options will be and what Manchester United will want to do with me: if they want to keep me there, sell me, loan me.
“At the moment, I can’t really speak much about the future because I don’t even know,”
United are therefore prepared to listen to offers, with reports suggesting they would consider selling Vitek this summer if their valuation is met.
The club are believed to be looking for around £10 million for the goalkeeper, while a loan move could also be possible if he signs a contract extension.
Manchester United are already working on strengthening their goalkeeper options, with the club looking to add an experienced number two behind Lammens.
The Red Devils have explored possible moves for Wolves’ Sam Johnstone and Leeds United’s Karl Darlow as they aim to add more depth.
After proving himself in the Championship, the young goalkeeper’s future is expected to be one of the decisions United must finalise during the summer window.
