The home of Liverpool FC is set to welcome thousands of Foo Fighters fans this week. The American band are set to perform two shows at Anfield Stadium on Thursday, June 25 and Saturday, June 27. Ahead of the show on Thursday, an amber weather warning was issued for Merseyside as temperatures could reach 35C.
The amber weather warning begins at midnight on Wednesday, June 24 until 11.59pm on Thursday, June 25. Liverpool FC had shared hot weather advice, but has made a few changes to their guidance ahead of tomorrow's show to ensure fans have a safe and memorable experience.
Foo Fighters fans are now able to bring in suncream in a travel size (100ml or less) in plastic container. However, pressurised or aerosol bottles are not allowed inside the stadium.
Fans are permitted to bring one sealed 500ml clear soft plastic bottle of water into Anfield (no metal or glass bottles are permitted). Reusable soft plastic bottles are permitted but must also be transparent.
See the full hot weather guidance issued by Liverpool FC below.
Before the concert
- Keep hydrated early and make sure you drink water throughout the day. There are free refill stations available around Liverpool city centre for those spending time there before heading to Anfield.
- Put sunscreen on before heading to Anfield and bring it with you to protect yourself before you leave for the concert. Due to the high temperatures expected, suncream will be allowed to be brought in to the stadium but must be travel size (100ml or less) in plastic containers only. Please note that pressurised or aerosol bottles will not be permitted. Suncream will also be available upon entry to the stadium.
- Small battery-powered fans that fit inside an A5 bag will be permitted to help keep you cool.
- Attendees are asked not to arrive before doors open at 4pm as there is limited shade in the immediate vicinity of the stadium.
- Wear light, breathable and loose-fitting clothes and consider a hat to help protect your head from sun exposure.
Once at Anfield
- Fans are permitted to bring one sealed 500ml clear soft plastic bottle of water into Anfield (no metal or glass bottles are permitted). Reusable soft plastic bottles are permitted but must also be transparent.
- There will be extra water taps on the pitch and free drinking water will be available at all bars and kiosks inside the stadium.
- There are a range of refreshments available to purchase both inside and outside of the stadium.
- If you do not bring your own, suncream is available upon entry to the stadium, in dispensers inside the stadium and available at all medical and welfare facilities.
During the show
- Keep hydrated with the free drinking water available around the ground, available from all bars as well as taps around the pitch to refill bottles.
- Take note of any signs of heat exhaustion, including dizziness, nausea, goosebumps or suddenly feeling cold. If you do have any concerns, please speak to your nearest steward.
