Man City are one of the favourites to sign Blackburn Rovers attacking midfielder Ty Livesey, according to reports.
TEAMtalk claim that the Manchester side are among three “leading contenders” for the teenager’s signature, along with rivals Man United and Liverpool.

Livesey has caught the eye of scouts at youth level. He is prolific in terms of goals and assists, and that prompted Blackburn to move him up to the Under-18s at the age of just 14.
His prodigious talent could lead to him moving to a Premier League club in the not-too-distant future.
Livesey’s performance at Under-18 level
The youngster made his debut for Blackburn in the Under-18 Premier League against Middlesbrough back in April. It was an inauspicious start, coming on as a substitute during a 9-0 defeat.
Even so, it wasn’t long before Livesey was starting games. 10 days later, he was named in the first eleven for a 1-1 draw against Everton. He created the equaliser for Oliver Flynn.
In his third match, the midfielder got on the scoresheet himself, finding the back of the net during a 3-1 win over Sunderland.

Man City would have to pay compensation
Due to Livesey’s age, he is not eligible to sign a professional contract. Blackburn have to wait until he is 17 for him to put pen to paper.
That is why the likes of City and others are circling. Rules that were put in place after Brexit prevent teams from signing foreign players under the age of 18, but those laws don’t apply for youngsters in the UK.
It has subsequently led to Premier League clubs raiding smaller teams for their best academy talents in recent years. Livesey is the latest example.
Blackburn would still have to be compensated for training the player, but the cost is unlikely to be substantial for City and other interested parties.
