Former Town players team up with Ipswich chefs to open new cafe

Former Town players Luke Chambers and Emyr Huws, who have established the wellness and lifestyle brand Harmonious Society since their football careers, are behind the new Harmonious Cafe, which will open on July 1 at Curve Bar.

The venture is a partnership with The Good Supper founders Surrey Rogers and Ben Taylor, who will lead the kitchen operation and bring a menu focused on fresh breakfasts, lunches and speciality sandwiches.

Ms Rogers is well known to many Ipswich food lovers as the former chef and co-owner of Good Inside cafe, while Mr Taylor has built a reputation through The Good Supper’s catering and events business.

The daytime cafe will serve a range of brunch dishes, salads and freshly baked focaccia sandwiches, alongside speciality coffee overseen by Harmonious Society.

Chambers and Huws said the aim was to create more than just a cafe, with plans for community-focused activities including running clubs and wellness events.

The project has been made possible through a partnership with Curve Bar owner Bradley Tai, who will continue to run the venue’s evening operation while transforming the space into a cafe during the day.

Mr Tai said: “I love supporting local independent businesses, and bringing this blend of wellness, exceptional food and great coffee into Curve Bar during the day is exactly what the area needs.”

The collaboration will also offer click-and-collect services, office lunch deliveries and private catering for events across Suffolk.
