There is an expectation that this summer transfer window could bear witness to some surprise exits from Arsenal. There are expected outgoings, too, with the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard potentially making way for an upgrade or two on the left flank.
However, Martin Odegaard’s future remains uncertain. football.london understands that as of the end of last season, when the skipper lifted the Premier League trophy, official talks over a new deal had not yet begun.
With two years left on his current deal, this is typically the time clubs make a decision on a player’s future. Whether to extend or potentially seek a transfer fee.

If Odegaard were to leave, there is no doubt that Arsenal would need to find a replacement of serious quality. One such player is Como’s Nico Paz.
At least, he remains a Como player for the moment, with strong suggestions Real Madrid will pay the €9million (£7.75million) buy-back clause they had inserted into the deal. After scoring 18 goals and making 16 assists in his 70 Serie A appearances since his move in 2024, the 21-year-old is considered one of the best talents in the division, and Madrid will have got themselves a bargain.
But suggestions are that Paz wants to play, and that with the likes of Jude Bellingham in the Spanish capital, minutes will be far more restricted. Los Blancos can, however, sell on Paz and make a tidy profit, with Fabrizio Romano suggesting the asking price is €60million (£51.7million).
There is interest from plenty of clubs in the player, but the price tag, considering what some of the Premier League talent is being mooted for this summer, could be a bargain. Another Real Madrid attacking midfielder to replace a former one in North London could become the perfect successor.

Equally, Arsenal have interest in Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers, while Ethan Nwaneri has since returned from a loan spell with Marseille and Max Dowman is also coming through, having broken out in the last campaign. Mikel Arteta has plenty of options at his disposal, and Odegaard could even stay.
