“He Might Be Available”–Ben Jacobs Reveals Arsenal Are Open To Offers For 21 Goal Forward

**Arsenal could sell Viktor Gyokeres this summer if a high enough bid is tabled, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.**

The Swedish international scored 21 goals in all competitions last season, but Jacobs says that despite his performances, the Gunners are willing to listen to offers:

“Viktor Gyokeres is a fascinating situation. He might be available on the market for the right price. With Gyokeres, if it hit a certain number, Arsenal wouldn’t reject out of hand. I don’t think he’s for sale, but I don’t think he’s untouchable.”

Gyokeres was signed for £63.5m (including add-ons) from Sporting Lisbon last July, less than a year ago.

Arsenal have been speaking to another striker’s agent

Another journalist, Fabrizio Romano, [**confirmed**](https://goonernews.com/blog/arsenal-transfer-news-julian-alvarez-11/) this week that Mikel Arteta’s side have made contact with Julian Alvarez’s representatives.

The Argentinian international has publicly declared that he wants to leave Atletico Madrid, sparking a scramble for his signature.

However, Alvarez’s entourage have told the Gunners and other interested parties that the player is only interested in joining Barcelona at the moment.

It does help to explain the club’s stance on Gyokeres. They don’t want to be seen as actively trying to sell him if his potential replacement isn’t available.

Gyokeres is not the only first-team player who is on the market

Captain Martin Odegaard, as well as wingers Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli, could also be offloaded if Arsenal receive high enough bids.

Despite winning the Premier League title and reaching the Champions League final, it appears the London club are fully prepared to make major changes to the playing squad during the summer transfer window.

Gyokeres, Odegaard, Trossard and Martinelli made a combined 194 appearances between them last campaign, so sporting director Andrea Berta would have to find suitable replacements for all of them if they were allowed to depart.
