Jeremy Monga looks all set for an Arsenal transfer. The Gunners managed to secure the teenage winger from Leicester City for the next season.

The Gunners win race to secure Monga

The North London club has overcome multiple clubs to secure Monga for next season. As reported by Goal, the Gunners finalized a package of £10 million to secure the 16-year-old winger. Monga was sought by more than eight clubs apart from Arsenal. These included Manchester United, Leeds United, Newcastle United, AS Roma, Bayer Leverkusen, and RB Leipzig. Eventually Monga chose to join Arsenal.

Monga joined the Leicester City’s youth academy in 2017. He represented the youth team between 2017 and 2025. The teenage winger made his senior debut for the Foxes last year.

Benefits of Monga’s entry to Arsenal

Monga’s entry in Arsenal will boost the team’s attacking lineup. The team is undergoing a tactical evolution under manager Mikel Arteta. Under his tutelage, the Gunners had a dream run last season [i.e. 2025-26]. They won back the Premier League title after 22 years. The Gunners finished on top of the League table with a total of 85 points, ahead of Manchester City, who finished second with 78 points. They narrowly missed out on the UEFA Champions League, after forcing Paris Saint-Germain to the penalty shootout in the final. The North London club also lost the EFL Cup final to Man City.

If Monga joins Arsenal, he’ll also be back in action at the Premier League. Monga made his league debut in 2025 for Leicester City, only months before Leicester City’s relegation to the EFL Championship. He became the second youngest player since Ethan Nwaneri to make his debut in the Premier League. Nwaneri coincidentally made his club debut for Arsenal in 2022. He was subsequently loaned out to Marseille this year.

The 2025-26 season was a forgettable one for the Foxes, including Monga. Leicester City were further relegated to EFL League One after finishing 23rd in the EFL Championship. They also faced early exits in the EFL Cup and the FA Cup. The Foxes will need to work super hard if they want to re-enter the Premier League.

Future Gameplan for Jeremy Monga

For now, Monga is working on his fitness concerns. The teenage winger missed out on most of the 2025-26 season due to multiple injuries. He was dropped from the Foxes in November 2025 due to illness and high fatigue. Additionally, he suffered from muscle concerns in December 2025, though he returned to action in February 2026. Luckily, Monga didn’t have any major disciplinary issues throughout the 2025-26 season.

Since Monga didn’t play any games for the senior England team, he didn’t receive a call for the ongoing World Cup. However, the teenage winger isn’t too concerned about it. He has plenty of time on his hands. However, if he needs to make it big in club **football**by next season, he needs to be in top form.

Arsenal is currently on cloud nine. However, manager Mikel Arteta knows well that he cannot afford to be complacent. That’s why he is on a wild spree in terms of securing the best players for the upcoming season. Arteta wants to maintain the magical momentum of the 2025-26 season. He would like nothing better than to restore Arsenal as the powerhouse of European football. It would be interesting to see how Monga fits into the scheme of things.
