Arsenal hold ‘all cards to finalise’ signing – Gunners deal would be at €37.5m+

Christos Tzolis’ performances for Club Brugge have caught the attention of several clubs, including Arsenal.

Last season, the winger scored 22 goals and contributed 29 goals in 52 matches.

Arsenal have been closely watching him for long and could make further advances to sign him.

Last month, the Greece international was asked whether he’s joining Arsenal, Manchester United or Manchester City this summer.

He said: “I don’t know. It depends on Club Brugge. It’s not up to me to decide. We’ll see what the best option is for me. It’s not just about the name. We also have to ask ourselves what the best project is.”

Encouragement for Arsenal and other clubs

Voetbalprimeur state the Greece international is attracting interest from several clubs and, among them, Arsenal ‘stand out the most’.

The outlet spoke to Greek journalist Dimitris Manakos, who is following Christos Tzolis’ situation closely.

He claims 24-year-old feels highly appreciated at Club Brugge and the two parties won’t push for a move. At the same time, the Jupiler Pro League are aware this summer could be the right time to earn a club-record fee from his sale.

Their current record is €37.5m from Charles De Ketelaere’s transfer to AC Milan in 2022.

“My information is that Club is willing to listen to offers if the right opportunity presents itself. Club is aiming for a record sum, and with several top clubs following him, the market seems ready for that,” he said.

Arsenal interest concrete

VP claims Mikel Arteta’s side stand out and the journalist further backed it up by claiming ‘no avenue currently seems as concrete as Arsenal’.

“I think Arsenal stands a better chance than many people in Belgium currently realise,” Manakos explained.

“This isn’t just a club that comes to take a look every now and then. Arsenal has been following Tzolis for a long time and has enormous appreciation for what he has shown over the past twelve months.

“Club Brugge know that this summer could be the right moment for a top transfer, and for Tzolis himself, the chance to sign with one of the biggest clubs in Europe would obviously be particularly attractive. Important steps still need to be taken, but if Arsenal really push through, I believe they hold all the cards to finalise this transfer.”

Tzolis was at Norwich City between 2021 and 2024 and failed to impress. He managed three goals and two assists from 30 matches. The Canaries even sent him on loan to FC Twente and Fortuna Düsseldorf.

Manakos insists his poor spell at Norwich City is unlikely to impact his potential return to England.
