Chelsea supporters have flooded social media with calls for the club to pursue Atletico Madrid striker Julián Álvarez amid fresh transfer speculation linking the Argentine forward with a potential summer move.
Reports suggesting Álvarez could be available have sparked excitement among CHELSEA fans, many of whom believe the World Cup winner would be the ideal addition to Xabi ALonso’s attacking options ahead of the new season.
Across X, Reddit and Chelsea fan forums, supporters urged the club’s hierarchy to make a statement signing and prioritise a move for the former Manchester City star.
One representative fan reaction read: “If there’s even a small chance of getting Julián Álvarez, Chelsea have to be all over it. He’s proven at the highest level and still improving.”
Another supporter posted: “Forget every other striker target. Álvarez should be Chelsea’s number one priority this summer.”
Many fans pointed to the 25-year-old’s work rate and versatility, arguing that he would fit perfectly into Alonso’s system: “Presses relentlessly, scores goals, creates chances and can play across the front line. What more do you want?” one supporter wrote.
A fourth fan added: “This is exactly the type of player Chelsea should be signing. Elite mentality, elite experience, elite quality.”
Several supporters also referenced Álvarez’s successful spell at Manchester City, where he won multiple major trophies before moving to Spain, One post stated: “Premier League proven. World Cup winner. Champions League winner. Why are we even debating this?”
Others suggested CHELSEA should be willing to spend heavily if an opportunity arose.
“Whatever Atletico want, pay it,” one fan wrote, while another commented: “We’ve spent big before. Spend big on a guaranteed difference-maker.”
Not every reaction was entirely positive, however. Some supporters questioned whether a deal would be financially realistic given Atletico’s likely valuation: “Fantastic player, but I can’t see Atletico selling cheaply,” one fan noted.
Another added: “Would love him at Chelsea, but this feels like a difficult transfer to pull off.”
Despite those concerns, the overwhelming mood among supporters appeared to be one of excitement. As speculation continues to gather pace, Chelsea fans have made their feelings clear online, with many believing Álvarez would represent one of the biggest and most significant signings the club could make this summer.
