Trevoh Chalobah looks set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer. The latest transfer news from Chelsea points to a Serie A move, with two Italian clubs now firmly in the picture. The 26-year-old is at the World Cup with England right now, but his club future is far from clear.
Como submit an official bid for Trevoh Chalobah
As reported by GOAL, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Como have submitted an official opening bid for the defender. The club is gearing up for its first-ever Champions League campaign. They want Trevoh Chalobah to be a part of it.
Como are managed by Cesc Fabregas, a former Blues and Arsenal midfielder. He came through a similar football environment and knows the Cobham setup well. That personal familiarity could give Como a real edge in negotiations. The club earned a Champions League spot last season, and now they want a squad to match that stage.
The fee in Como’s offer has not been made public. A valuation gap is the main sticking point right now. The Premier League side wants more than what Como has put on the table. As reported by Caughtoffside, Chalobah is under contract until 2028. So there is no desperation to sell. However, no extension talks are underway.
Inter Milan enters the race for Trevoh Chalobah
Como are not the only club in the race. As reported by GOAL, Serie A champions Inter Milan are also tracking the defender. The Nerazzurri are assessing their centre-back options for next season, and Trevoh Chalobah has come up as one of them.
Inter’s interest makes sense on paper. The defender is physical and reads the game well. He can operate across the back line, which gives managers tactical options. He also brings over 150 senior appearances for the Blues to his name. That level of experience at a potentially modest fee would represent strong value in the current market. If Inter make a formal offer, a bidding war becomes likely, and that would work in Chelsea’s favour.
Trevoh Chalobah for Chelsea in 2025/26, as per FOTMOB:
Competitions Matches Goals Duels Won Defensive Contributions
Premier League 34 3 134 265
FA Cup 1 0 5 11
EFL Cup 4 0 16 28
UCL 8 0 17 30
The appeal of a move to Italy is clear. Inter will defend their Scudetto and play in Europe next season. The west London club, by contrast, finished tenth and has no continental football to offer, as reported by GOAL. For a player at 26 and in his prime years, that difference is significant.
Trevoh Chalobah’s World Cup call-up and what comes next
As reported by GOAL, England boss Thomas Tuchel handed Trevoh Chalobah a late World Cup call-up after Tino Livramento was ruled out injured. Tuchel, who worked with the defender during his time at Chelsea, picked him ahead of Harry Maguire. That was a notable call given Maguire’s experience at the international level.
He has not played in England’s two group games so far, a 4-2 win over Croatia and a draw with Ghana. With just one senior cap, regular game time seems unlikely unless injuries hit. Still, being selected at all is a sign of how he is viewed at the international level.
At the club level, new head coach Xabi Alonso is building a new-look defence. As reported by CaughtOffside, the priority is a centre-back who can start alongside Levi Colwill regularly. A £51 million deal for Atalanta’s Marco Palestra is almost complete. Crystal Palace’s Maxence Lacroix and Como’s Jacobo Ramon are also on their radar. With the rebuild underway, his role is shrinking. A summer exit looks the most likely outcome.
