Liverpool Youngster Linked With Deepdale Move

More transfer rumours seem to be heading North End’s way, with the latest name bound to get fans excited should the club complete the move.

Preston North End are one of the few Championship clubs eyeing up a move for this young midfielder, who looks set to go out on loan to the second tier next season.

Stefan Bajcetic is the latest name to be rumoured with a move to Deepdale this summer, with a loan move looking entirely possible for the Spanish midfielder.

Andoni Iraola’s arrival at Anfield could spell the end of the 21-year-old’s time at Liverpool, as the club eye up moves for Aurelien Tchoumani and Adam Wharton.

Stoke City, Blackburn Rovers, and Middlesbrough are reportedly the three other Championship clubs keen on the former Salzburg loanee.

Bajcetic has been frustrated for game time at Anfield over the past few years after breaking out under Jurgen Klopp in the 2022-23 season where he made 11 Premier League appearances.

His most recent loan spell was with ex-La Liga side Las Palmas in 2025, where he spent the latter half of the season making 14 appearances as the club were relegated from the top flight.

Bajcetic Style of Play

The Vigo-born youngster is highly-thought of at Liverpool, with his versatility to play in many roles in the midfield being one of his best attributes.

Typically, he is a ‘six’ who utilises his tremendous athleticism, tactical knowledge, and defensive capabilities to break up play and turnover possession to progress his team forward.

He is a composed technical player, with his ability to pick out a pass and dribbling through the middle of the park being another key component in his game.

His close control suggests someone who is incredibly press-resistant, which would be a hugely beneficial factor for a team in the Championship who is constantly facing pressure from the opposition in a league where there’s no rest given.

His injuries and fitness is a cause for concern for the prodigy, who has struggled with calf, hamstring, and back injuries in the past.

When fit though, he would be a hugely crucial player to any team he plays for, with his technical ability and awareness bringing a new dynamic to how the Lilywhites would be able to play through the centre.

How Much Would He Cost?

Seeing as he’s still highly-rated, the idea of a permanent transfer is a pipe dream that North End fans should forget about.

This would be a loan move, where the club could potentially have to front a fee to his parent club in order to convince the former Premier League champions to send him to Lancashire.

That being said, it would depend on how discussions go with Bajcetic, should he entertain the idea of plying his trade at Deepdale for a season.
