Liverpool’s newly appointed head coach Andoni Iraola is reportedly monitoring Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi as part of his early planning for a squad rebuild at Anfield, according to reports.
The Daily Mail claims that LIVERPOOL have shown sustained interest in the 18-year-old, who has emerged as one of Europe’s most closely tracked young midfielders following breakthrough performances for Lille and Morocco.
The report suggests Iraola is among several Premier League managers keen on the teenager, with Liverpool’s recruitment department having scouted him extensively over the past year.
Bouaddi, who has already established himself as a regular at Lille despite his age, is widely regarded as one of the most promising midfield prospects in European football.
His composure in possession, ability to progress play under pressure and tactical maturity have drawn comparisons with established top-level midfielders, accelerating interest from a host of elite clubs.
Liverpool are said to face competition from Arsenal, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich, all of whom are monitoring the player’s development. Lille are understood to value the midfielder at around £50 million, reflecting both his rapid rise and long-term potential.
Reports suggest Liverpool’s recruitment focus this summer has largely centred on attacking reinforcements, but midfield additions are also under consideration as Iraola shapes a squad for the 2026–27 season.
Bouaddi is viewed internally as a long-term investment rather than an immediate first-team solution, with his profile fitting Liverpool’s strategy of targeting elite young talent before their peak market valuation.
However, sources indicate that LIVERPOOL are not currently alone in the race, and no formal negotiations have been reported at this stage. The situation is expected to develop over the coming weeks as clubs assess their priorities following international tournaments and early summer planning.
Bouaddi’s performances at international level have further raised his profile, with scouts from several top clubs expected to continue monitoring his progress before any potential transfer decision is made.
