Sport: Mendes involved again in attempt to engineer Milan move for Barcelona midfielder

After securing the signing of Goncalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan could land another Jorge Mendes client.

According to SPORT, Marc Casadó is one of the players who will almost certainly leave Barça this summer. The midfielder has the option to leave as he won’t get much playing time under Hansi Flick, but it’s the player himself who will decide which team to join and when.

Barça would like to complete a permanent deal to generate capital gains, academy graduate wants to be very clear about the project he’s joining. He’ll only move if there’s a commitment to him, and in recent days an option has emerged in Italian football that could suit the midfielder.

Mendes calls Milan

Casadó’s agent, Jorge Mendes, is actively exploring the market to find the best solution for the player, one that also aligns with Barcelona’s strategy. As we know, his axis with the Rossoneri has been firmly rekindled.

Mendes has received offers from Saudi Arabia, but Casadó would prioritise remaining in Europe, which complicates the possibility of a sale exceeding €20m. So far, interested clubs have only considered a loan with an option to buy.

The super-agent is orchestrating a potential deal with Milan, the club that just appointed Ruben Amorim as manager and wrapped up a €70m+ deal with PSG for Ramos, whom Mendes also represents. The agent doesn’t personally represent Amorim, but influenced the move.

Casado could become a real option for Milan, especially if they sell a player like Youssouf Fofana. Mendes has offered the 22-year-old as a potential market opportunity, and the likely proposal would be a loan with a non-obligatory purchase option.

In recent weeks, Mendes has made inquiries in the Premier League and also contacted Monaco, but so far there has been no progress. There are interested teams in Portugal, but the financial offers are low, and the Saudi option for now seems to be ruled out. So, the path could be clear for Milan.
