Curtis Jones has been linked with a Premier League club after they sanctioned the record sale of Elliot Anderson to Man City.
Nottingham Forest have emerged as the latest club to be linked with Jones amid his future uncertainty at Anfield, with just one year remaining on his contract.
The *Mail*‘s Midlands reporter, Tom Collomosse, reports that Forest are “thought to be considering” Jones, who is valued at a minimum of £35 million.
Journalist Lewis Steele, more familiar to Liverpool supporters, promoted the story on his X account, suggesting there could be some input from his sources and merit to the interest.
But perhaps it is not surprising that after the £116 million – also reported to be £130 million – exit of Anderson, links to Jones emerged with Forest needing to reinforce their midfield.

It is a well-trodden path in the transfer rumour mill, with one club having the funds and the need for a midfielder, and an experienced midfielder looking for the exit at Anfield.
What cannot be argued is that Forest are now armed with the funds to meet Liverpool’s demands, but whether Jones would be open to switching to a lower-ranked side is another matter.
Collomosse’s report addresses that particular question, saying: “The one issue is whether Jones, having been a useful but never a crucial player for his boyhood team, would be keen to join what he might deem a lower-ranked club.
“Some players like that also struggle to adapt when they are suddenly expected to be a key man for a new team.”
Jones has largely been used as a squad player for Liverpool and never a guaranteed starter, which will be prompting his desire to seek a new opportunity this summer.
Forest could offer the game time he wants, but Brighton‘s Jack Hinshelwood and Tottenham‘s Lucas Bergvall are also on their radar.
Inter Milan remain the frontrunners for Jones, but they need to return to the negotiating table with a bid that matches the Reds’ £35 million valuation if a deal is to be struck.
According to Steele, Liverpool will be prepared to let the 25-year-old run down his contract if no acceptable offer is received.
