The North Londoners continue trimming their attacking roster ahead of the new campaign by agreeing to a permanent exit for the young Argentine forward.

The summer squad overhaul continues at Tottenham Hotspur this week as the club officially confirmed a permanent departure from the playing squad. The N17 faithful have watched several peripheral figures leave the capital recently to generate crucial transfer funds. Promising striker Alejo Veliz is the latest name to exit the club permanently.

The Argentine attacker has officially reached an agreement to join Brazilian top-flight outfit Bahia, which is Man City’s sister club. This permanent transfer officially commences on July 1, when the international transfer window opens for business. The North Londoners decided to cash in on the youngster rather than sanctioning another temporary development loan.

The forward initially arrived with massive expectations from Rosario Central back in the summer of 2023. However, his time in the English capital never quite materialized into a sustained run of first-team opportunities. He only managed to make eight senior appearances and scored just one domestic league goal overall.

That singular strike came against Brighton during his debut campaign. Following his brief exposure to English football, the striker embarked on a series of frustrating loan spells to gain crucial senior experience. He spent time in Spain with both Sevilla and Espanyol before searching for a vital career reset elsewhere.

Alejo Veliz subsequently returned to his boyhood club, Rosario, on loan last July. The constant movement between different countries completely stalled his overall tactical development. A permanent move to the Brazilian top division now offers the young professional a completely fresh start to finally kickstart his promising football career.

The current managerial regime under De Zerbi determined that the striker did not fit their immediate strategic vision. The official communications team released a brief public statement confirming the South American transfer agreement. They respectfully stated that they wish him well for the future as he begins this brand new Brazilian chapter. Fans will watch him closely.
