The World Cup is making headlines in North America but closer to home the transfer window is open, and Manchester United are seeking to strengthen Michael Carrick's squad. A deal for Brazil midfielder Ederson is in place, but so far United have been frustrated in their attempts to add to it.
United are still working on a deal to sign Mateus Fernandes from West Ham and plan to sign a left-sided player, a back-up goalkeeper, and another forward.
Departures are also on the radar, although Manuel Ugarte and Marcus Rashford are focused on the World Cup at the moment. Joshua Zirkzee could leave this summer, along with a trio of goalkeepers.
