Liverpool have a new manager at the helm for 2026/27, and Andoni Iraola has a busy schedule to contend with as he bids to oversee an upturn from last season.

It is another summer of change for the Reds, with Arne Slot replaced by Iraola after a dismal second campaign at the helm.

The spotlight is now on the Spaniard in what also represents his biggest career move to date, with Liverpool needing to challenge in the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup.

There has been a change to the international breaks this season, as the September and October breaks have been combined, reducing the number of times players jet off from four to three across the campaign.

This summer’s World Cup means a delayed start to the season, which will be 287 days long between the first Premier League match and the Champions League final in Madrid.

It makes for another busy season for the Reds, but the change in management has at least restored the excitement for the potential of what could be, which will be tested by the number of fixtures.

Liverpool played 57 games last season and the maximum they could play this time around is 67, if they were to play every game across every competition.

It is a tall order to go the distance in multiple competitions, but silverware has to be on the agenda for Iraola and Co.

Liverpool’s key fixture dates for 2026/27

Vs. Everton: November 28 (A), January 30 (H)

Vs. Man United: November 21 (H), January 23 (A)

Although Liverpool have lost several key figures since the end of the last season, more new faces will arrive, and a change in approach is guaranteed to reignite the fire.

Enjoy the ride, Reds!
