The latest Premier League transfer news as Arsenal, Spurs, Leeds United and more chase summer deals
The 2026 summer transfer window is shaping up to be a real cracker, with a number of high profile Premier League players set to seek their next big move. Things could be slowed down by the FIFA World Cup, however, with a number of elite players unwilling to break their focus on the international tournament until their participation is over.

We’ll kick things off at Elland Road, where Leeds United are after Borussia Monchengladbach defender Nico Elvedi, according to reports in the German media carried by Sport Witness. They claim that the Whites have made a bid in the region of £7m for the 29-year-old, who has just one year left on his contract with the Bundesliga outfit.
The story goes on to claim that Leeds’ offer was a verbal offer, rather than an official one, and has been deemed as unsatisfactory by the North Rhine-Westphalia outfit. They’re now said to be concerned that they’ll lose the player for nothing if they can’t shift him before his deal expires. It’s also claimed that Elvedi is eager to make a move to the Premier League.
The 3AM Verdict: There’s really not too much to go on here. We don’t know how much the club want for the player, or indeed whether he would consider a move to Leeds. The 70-cap Switzerland international has looked the part in the World Cup thus far, playing an important role in his country topping their group. If the Whites push for it, they could secure themselves a bargain.
Arsenal “offers expected” for Rogers

Meanwhile, Arsenal are looking to press on with strengthening their squad after winning the Premier League title last season, and are likely to add some attacking flair to their midfield. Aston Villa gem Morgan Rogers is said to be their top target, and a fresh report from Football Insider suggests the Gunners are ready to begin the process of convincing Villa to sell.
The report says that the West Midlands club are adamant that they won’t entertain offers for the England star, but could potentially be convinced if an offer over £100m were to be lodged. That’s as far as the report goes in terms of any remotely concrete details, in a particularly thin bowl of transfer gruel.
The 3AM Verdict: This really isn’t a ground-breaking update on the Rogers saga. We know that Arsenal want to sign him, and at some point they will most likely make a bid. His contract runs until 2031, so Villa are in a strong position to stand their ground. Things could get tricky if the player were to down tools and hand in a transfer request, however.
Tottenham ready bold bid for Tonali

We’ll stay in north London to round things off, as Tottenham’s peculiar midfielder hunt continues. One day their supposedly after Mateus Fernandes from West Ham, the next it’s Sandro Tonali, and this tends to go back and forth all week. Today, it’s Tonali again, with Team Talk claiming Spurs will make a “sensational offer” worth £100m for the Newcastle United gem.
They say that Tottenham are ready to obliterate their transfer record to get the deal done, and suggest that the player is interested in joining Roberto De Zerbi’s side. Spurs are said to have already had a £75m bid rejected. Manchester United have also been heavily linked with the Italy international, as well the other aforementioned Spurs target, Fernandes.
The 3AM Verdict: Newcastle have already lost Anthony Gordon this summer. Arsenal are meant to be after Bruno Guimaraes, while both starting full-backs Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall are also being closely watched. They can’t lose them all, but we do think they’ll lose Tonali, while convincing captain Guimaraes to stay for one more year. Whether Tonali goes to Man United or Tottenham is anyone’s guess at the moment, but both players will likely move on.
